All over the world, one of the latest trends in healthy dieting includes detox water. Detoxing has become a productive habit for many who are suffering from weight gain and is a successful method for ridding your body of any harmful toxins. Detox water is a simple treatment where you can rid your body of dangerous toxins by drinking bottles of water infused with different types of organic fruits.

To create your own detox water, all you need is a reusable water bottle, water, and any fruits or vegetables you typically like. There are hundreds of variations for a detox water recipe, some of which are listed below:

  • Berry Blast: 2 cups of fresh berries including blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries: great taste and includes lots of vitamins
  • Lemon-Lime: thinly cut slices of half of a lemon and half of a lime, cucumbers and/or mint leaves can be added: flushes out toxins and helps burn fat
  • Apple Cinnamon: add in a mix of different sliced apples or just one type, along with several cinnamon sticks depending on size of the glass: no calories and helps rid the body of toxins
  • Strawberry Infused: slices of strawberries, raspberries, mint leaves and cucumbers: anti-inflammatory and great for your skin
  • Kiwi Kiss: slices of kiwi, strawberries and cubes of cut watermelon: tastes great and good for your skin
  • Citrus: slices of grapefruit, oranges and/or tangerines and pineapple (usually 3 slices): high in antioxidants and vitamin C

Along with the detox water, you should follow a healthy meal plan that excludes carbohydrates, but includes many fruits and vegetables. If you also tend to exercise often, drinking detox water is a great way to stay replenished and hydrated.

A DIY detox diet is a great way to lose weight, but make sure to speak to your doctor or a registered medical practitioner before engaging in any cleanse. For more DIY detox water ideas, check out pinterest accounts or go to the DIY and Crafts site.
