Prom season is already here and girls everywhere are beginning their preparations for the night they’ve all been waiting for. While finding the perfect dress along with matching shoes is important, many girls also stress about their skin. They worry about that annoying pimple that may appear out of nowhere or having dark under eye circles. Instead of going out to pay for an extremely expensive facial, which might I add is at the very least $50, you can do one at home for a fraction of the price.
To clear your skin of those disgusting blackheads and smooth skin, try the milk and nutmeg facial scrub. Be advised though that this scrub does contain nutmeg so if you are allergic to any seeds, please do not try this scrub! To create this scrub, pour ground nutmeg into a small dish and then add a bit of milk. There are not any exact measurements but the general recipe should include more nutmeg than milk. Gently rub the scrub on your skin. Note that you should not apply too much pressure when you are massaging it into your skin because not much is needed. After you have scrubbed the mixture, rinse your face with warm water gently and pat dry with a towel.
For an exfoliating mask, you can create your own yogurt mask, To create it, add any plain yogurt or even Greek yogurt to a bowl, add a tablespoon of honey, and stir until everything is well mixed. Apply the mask to your face and wait for about 15-20 minutes and then rinse with warm water.
A mask that can help make your face look brighter is the strawberry facial mask. To do this mask, you will need: strawberries, water, gauze, seaweed powder, and honey. You should first add water to the seaweed powder and mix thoroughly until it becomes a clear, gel-like substance. Then add chopped strawberries into the gel and mix the two together. Then taking 2 pieces of gauze, you first spray them with facial mist, any kind will do, and then apply it to your cheeks. Using a brush, brush the mixture onto the gauze and let it sit for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes, slowly remove the gauze going in a down to up motion and massage the excess moisture into your cheeks.
With these 3 different ways to clear your skin, you’ll be looking great for that special night. Remember to do these ahead of time before prom to make sure you have enough time to prepare for other treatments. Also, after doing these masks don’t forget to moisturize your skin to keep it looking healthy and you’ll be all set.
Enjoy that special night and create great memories!
