It is Mr.Goldsholl’s first year in New Milford teaching history, which he loves and finds fascinating due to the elements of social change and reading about and studying other cultures. Initially, Mr. Goldsholl started out as a temporary teacher in his hometown of Glen Rock at Glen Rock High School, which is where he graduated from. After the year was over and that position had ended, he found and applied for a leave replacement History position in New Milford and came here. When asked which school is better, his answer to this question was ¨I like both towns. Glen Rock is my hometown and I have a lot of loyalty to there, but at the same time, as months have passed by, I started liking New Milford much more.”

Mr. Goldsholl attended Ramapo College in Mahwah and graduated in five years with a teaching degree. At first, he was into journalism and after a year, he realized that he was much more interested in teaching, so he switched his major to education. Interestingly, Mr. Goldsholl stated that if he didn’t choose history, he was going to choose math because he was good at it in high school. However, he also realized that it was difficult for him at the college level and he decided that “I wasn’t smart as I thought.”

As a child, Mr.Goldsholl had the typical dreams like most kids do about becoming a professional baseball player; then, he wanted to be a basketball player. Mr. Goldsholl is still an avid athlete; basketball is his favorite sport. Throughout his college years, he spent time coaching baseball and basketball at the youth level.

According to Mr. Goldsholl, his students bring a certain energy to the classroom and he wouldn’t trade them with any other group of students. One thing Mr.Goldsholl finds as the best part of his job is teaching his students every day. For his final words, Mr.Goldsholl would like to thank everyone in this school for making him feel comfortable since the first day.
