Clueless due to budget or stuck with a crazy schedule that makes it almost impossible to plan something totally explosive? Valentine’s Day is about love and being with the people that make us happiest. Below is a list of movies to binge-watch or choose from for when all you want is to spend quality time with your partner, despite life getting in the way. Remember, sometimes just being in the same room together in each other’s company is romantic enough. But hey, Valentine’s Day lands on a Friday this year, which means you have the opportunity to make it up the following Saturday:

  • The Notebook

What’s a list of romance movies without The Notebook? You’ve either seen it or heard of it; the tale of the rich girl and the poor boy with a love so strong, a love that beats all odds. Either way, this movie will bring you to tears, and crying with your significant other this Valentine’s Day–what’s more romantic than that?

  • To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before

To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before was released on Netflix in August of 2018. I still remember all the girls going crazy for it–the movie that put Noah Centineo on the map. This movie tells the classic story of the popular boy pretending to date the quiet girl in order to make an ex jealous. We all know that the boy always ends up accidentally falling in love with the girl through the process, but how great is it when you have a significant other to watch those tables turn with?

  • 10 Things I Hate About You

10 Things I Hate About You is the same old school cliche you’ll find in more than a dozen movies. But this cliche tells the story of two sisters and their love stories: the popular girl who wants the popular boy but ends up with the sweet nerd, and the bad boy that falls in love with the girl he made a bet on. Best of all, it’s a rom-com, so in between your tears, you can squeeze in some laughs. Also, it’s a play on the timeless Shakespearian classic Taming of the Shrew. And who couldn’t use a little of The Bard on Valentine’s Day?

  • Set It Up

Set It Up is another rom-com, released on Netflix June of 2018. This movie is actually one of my all-time favorite rom-coms. It’s quirky and cute—just what you need for a cute Valentine’s Day with some laughs. Two employees attempt to set their bosses up together and end up falling in love along the way. How cute is that?

  • A Walk to Remember

A Walk to Remember is another movie that will bring in the tears. The bad boy falls in love with the Church girl, and his entire world is flipped. Love is supposed to last forever, and you’re supposed to spend forever with the one that you love, but what happens when leukemia cuts your time short? Leave the tissues at a reachable distance, because this movie will bring you to tears.
